Hypnotic movement, whirring microphones, blinking lights, intimate encounters, Physical Fractalsis an up-close, sensory experience – a dance work that consumes space and bends time. Presented at PACT from 1 – 10 May, two performers fall and rise, weaving repetitive movements within a circle of witnesses, building tension with changes in sight and sound.

Created by independent dance maker Natalie Abbott and first presented at Next Wave Festival 2012, Physical Fractals is a brave, uncompromising dance work.

Wim Boissevain is now in his eighties, but still remains one of WA’s greatest living art treasures. He received the Order of the British Empire back in 1978, has works in almost every state gallery in Australia, and is collected in the private galleries of Europe.

In his current exhibition at Linton & Kay Galleries, The Kelly Series, Boissevain tells one of Australia’s most enduring stories; that of Ned Kelly. The works reflect the brutality of the times, but are rendered with the same strokes that he would use to bring to life a vase of flowers or to delicately outline a figure - see attached a contact sheet of the paintings.

Now showing at Linton & Kay Galleries until 28 April.

Acclaimed Queensland artist Melissa Egan will show 23 of her engaging new works at Linton and Kay Galleries from May.

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Egan’s works are found in both private and corporate art collections across Australia and internationally.

The Good Life is Egan’s first Perth exhibition and is inspired by the things we love - eating, drinking, travel, family, friends and life itself.
